Travels of an Ordinary Man

Life keeps on going
It doesn’t stop for anyone
Just when you think you’ve got it figured out

It’s gone to science fiction
And as we orbit Mars
Don’t you see the Light
Near the Presence of God
Feel my heart beating faster

Circles around the Earth
Circles around these eyes
Circles around the Man in the Moon

Hearing the children’s laughter after school

Folks keep on living
Don’t ever stop the things you do
Cause just when you think it’s never working out

It does
You’re a winner
The audience applauds when they see the star

Take her bow in a crowded bar
At the curtain call

Circles around the Earth
Circles around these eyes
Circles around the Man in the Moon

Hearing the children’s laughter after school

When I was only seventeen
Life wasn’t so serpentine
Only serendipity for me
But now that I am wiser
At least I hope I can
Be more that just a one man band
And make someone happy too
Someone like you

Just when you think it’s never working out
It does, go the distance
The orchestra just soars
And you play a part
You’ll notice a change of heart
Beating stronger

Circles around the Earth
Circles around these eyes
Circles around the Man in the Moon

Hearing the children’s laughter after school

Laughter after school
Laughter after school
